How to Write a Research paper

In a research paper, you will develop an original piece of writing in which you answer a research question. To answer your question, you find and present relevant information and then analyze the information.

Tip and Guidelines:

1. The introduction to your research paper needs to have both a ?hook? and a research question. The first paragraph of your research paper should state your thesis and help your reader to understand why your topic is meaningful or important.

2. Plan to have 3 to 5 (or more) body paragraphs. In each paragraph, introduce a piece of research you found which provides further information pertaining to your research question.

3. Each research piece can be a well-documented statistic, study or experiment. Make sure each piece supports your thesis. Remember - Google is your best friend when searching for supporting evidence!

4. The closing statement needs to address the research question and provide any final evidence to wrap up loose ends. The conclusion must give a sense of why the issue is relevant or important.

5. Remember to cite your sources. A great online resource for citation is Easy Bib. EasyBib's citation generator will let you cite in popular formats such as APA, MLA etc.
